How an Ohio-based healthcare client addressed a hidden epidemic through community workshops

A new state-mandated behavioral health carve-in initiative brought new challenges for member outcomes. Clinical staff saw an uptick in youth mental health conditions as a result of bullying. The Ohio based client saw this as an opportunity for education, collaboration and advocacy. BrandWell was challenged to develop a statewide initiative to drive conversation and action.
BrandWell coordinated and conducted six anti-bullying workshops across Ohio to address the growing bullying epidemic in Ohio schools and communities for an Ohio based client. Each session was filled to capacity with representatives from community organizations, schools, law enforcement and state government with the goal of creating a culture of change and empowering today’s youth to lead it.
The workshops convened 425 community advocates at six workshops across Ohio where participants shared best practices and developed ideas for new strategies to create a culture of change and empower today’s youth to lead it. A recap report was created for legislative advocacy that positioned the client favorably in relations with the State and gained leads for future partnerships for child-focused community relations efforts.
